Jessica Alupo shares tips on mechanism intervention in the agricultural sector

During a meeting between the Vice President Jessica Alupo and Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), she shared tips on mechanism intervention in the previously mentioned sector.

The information was shared through a policy guidance which is meant to help the improve on the agricultural sector as well as the animal industry and finally, fisheries sector which jointedly make up MAAIF.

Thanks to the information that was shared, the MAAIF team shall start off in Eastern Uganda next week and Minister Tumwebaze specifically promises to spearhead the intervention in the Teso region.

While dealing with the Teso region, there’s expected to be engagement of stakeholders specifically meant to address cassava value chain issued and irrigation as the Minister said;

“Pleased to meet H.E @ jessica-alupo the VP. We received her policy guidance on some of the mechanisation intervention areas @MAAIF_Uganda is doing in Eastern Uganda. And next week I will lead a team to Teso for Stakeholder engagements on cassava value chain issues and intervention.”

Through this, the ministry aims as improving the output of the agricultural sector especial by developing mechanisms that can ensure all round production of Agricultural products.

Additionally, the Minister also spoke about adopting to processing of the locally manufactured goods so as to ensure that their value is boosted and also, their perishability is reduced.
